SPRING 2010 RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS RESTORED!
(Peewee Instructional Program and Girls Soccer League)

Despite the closing of the Van Cortlandt Park soccer fields this spring, we will be having a spring season thanks to the efforts of Community Board 8 and the generosity and community commitment of the Riverdale Country School.
The Spring season will begin on April 10 at the Riverdale Country School, located at 5250 Fieldston Road.
The Peewee Program, for boys and girls born in 2002 and 2003, will take place on Saturdays between 8:30 and 9:45 AM.
The Girls Soccer League, for girls born between 1995 and 2001, will run from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays.
Younger children may contact Play Soccer Now!, an independently-run program, at 917-836-2924.
There is no local program in the spring for boys born before 2002; the boys league plays only in the fall season.

SPRING 2010 TRAVEL TEAMS

The travel teams will continue to play this spring despite the Van Cortlandt closing, but the teams are likely to have fewer home games. Participation on a travel team requires a tryout, and there are a limited number of openings on each team. For more information, contact the team managers as shown below.

FALL 2009 ENROLLMENT TOTALS

The Riverdale Soccer Club had 695 youth soccer players playing in our programs this fall. This included 108 players in the Peewee Program, 251 players in the South Riverdale Soccer League, 157 players in the Riverdale Girls Soccer League, and 179 players on travel teams. Altogether, there were 400 boys and 295 girls playing soccer this fall in our programs.
